Free Summer Activities For Your Kids!

Summer is almost here and for many stay at home moms this brings a little anxiety. The resounding question is "What low cost activites are there for my children?" Here are some suggestions that you wi8ll enjoy and you'll love the price. Howe much will it cost you? Nothing, zilch, zero....FREE! Yes, we love free don't we?!?

Toys R' Us is having a lovely little FREE SUMMER ACTIVITY PROGRAM . They will provide two hours of entertainment on Saturdays from 1pm-3pm (June 3-June 24). Children age 3-8 must have parental supervision. The particpants will receive free materials while supplies last. Visit their site for details!

A.C. Moore has a great free program for children. They provide the materials for children to make a different craft. In my town, the craft night is every Thursday afternoon. Visit your AC Moore web site to see if your local AC Moore participates in Kid's Night. They have added a new section to their web site with many fun summer activities for kids and a savings off your next purchase.

For those really hot summer days AMC Theaters has a great offer. AMC has created a program called AMC Theater Summer Movie Camp. See a different movie every Wednesday at 10:30am at participating theaters. Free movie, free air conditioning and free popcorn (this coupon expires June 16, 2006).

Visit your local library and register for their summer programs. They usually have programs geared for different ages with appropriate activities. Everything is usually free, but there are limited slots so you must register as soon as possible.

Your local zoo has certain days where the admission is free. Call or visit their web site and plan your day including your food and drinks (in other words set aside the money or bring your own), because they usually charge admission for each attraction to make up for the free admission. Getting in free doesn't mean you'll have free access to everything, that's the catch.

If you live in a rural community, it's time for the local fairs! Your local fair should have a web site where they tell you whcih day they let everyone (or just kids) in for FREE! Yes, that's right. You can go in and not pay admission fees! Now all you have to worry about is food, drinks and/or rides!

For those of you that have religious affiliations.....IT'S VBS time once again. I know people that send their kids to every local VBS program. VBS stands for Vacation Bible School. Their kids look forward to playing with other kids and the moms appreciate the break! The programs are usually free or have a small fee for supplies.

I hope that you found this helpful. Summer activities don't always have to be expensive! Now go plan your summer and have lots of FUN!!!!!

If you have something to add, feel free to email me. I will add it to this entry and provide a link to your site...
